Recently Chinese State Council issued the Soil Pollution Control Action Plan, which is another action plan from Chinese government to clean up air, water source and soil.
The Soil Pollution Control Action Plan set a goal up until 2020, by which time the nation-wide aggravated soil contamination will be basically put under control and soil quality be maintained stable in general. By the mid this century, soil quality is expected to be improved thoroughly to achieve the positive cycling of ecosystem. It is anticipated that by 2020 the safe use ratio of contaminated cultivated land will reach about 90% and the safe use ratio of contaminated land blocks will reach above 90%; by 2030 the safe use ratio of contaminated cultivated land will reach about 95% and the safe use ratio of contaminated land blocks will reach above 95%.
The implementation of the Soil Pollution Control Action Plan is an important measure taken by Chinese government to fight against pollution. To this end, all 3 pollution control plans have been put in place respectively covering control over air pollution, water pollution and soil pollution.
